 CE Level 1 Versus CE Level 2 Armour Impact Ratings

Where a lot of riders can get confused is how CE ratings for armour.

Impact armor for use in motorcycle garments must undergo its own set of tests to determine whether it is CE Level 1 or CE Level 2 certified.

CE Level 1 armor has the maximum transmitted force threshold of 35 kN as compared to CE Level 2 with a  higher level of protection in terms of impact absorption and it means the armour has been tested and verified for a maximum transmitted force below 20 kN.

I ordered this jacket over the weekend, and here it is Wednesday & it's just been delivered interstate. Can't beat that ! This is the first winter jacket I have owned where the size specification INCLUDES the thermal liner. Most jackets seem to quote size without the liner in, and fitting the liner takes you 1 size smaller. Not this one ! The jacket seems well made too so I look forward to it having a good lifespan.

Worth more.

Been wearing this jacket (got the flouro one) for a few moths now and can really recomend it. I take an XL size in Jackets and XL fitted me perfectly. The armour sits in the correct place and the jacket is a snug fit without being constrictive, very comfortable. Have proven through experience that the outer shell is wind and water proof, only need the liner when the outside temp is below 10C, above that works fine over just a shirt. The vents work well in warmer conditions allowing adequate airflow. The only problem I have found is that the collar is constrictive around my short neck, having the neck open a bit solves that problem. A great jacket that is worth more than the asking price.
